Paul Kugler received his Ph.D. from the State University of New York and completed a Diploma in Analytical Psychology from the Jung Institute, Zürich (1979). While in Zürich, he worked at the Clinic and Research Center for Jungian Psychology (Klinik am Zürichberg) before returning to the United States to teach at the State University of New York and to work in private practice in East Aurora, New York.
He is the author of over sixty articles and chapters ranging from contemporary psychoanalysis and clinical supervision to experimental theatre, photography, and postmodernism. Dr. Kugler is the author of The Alchemy of Discourse: Image, Sound, and Psyche, Raids on the Unthinkable: Freudian and Jungian Psychoanalysis, and Jungian Approaches to Clinical Supervision. He has lectured throughout Europe, North and South America, Australia, Japan, China, and Macau. Past President of the Inter-‐Regional Society of Jungian Analysts, he has also served as an Officer of the International Association of Analytical Psychologists.
